A new Zhengzhou-Moscow freight rail route launched in China

A new China-Europe freight train has been launched in the central Chinese province of Henan. It connects the regional administrative center of Zhengzhou city with Moscow, Xinhua news agency reported on Thursday. "The new route will help reduce transportation costs for companies seeking to develop the Russian market," the agency quotes the statement of the initiator of the new international route, Zhengzhou International Hub Development and Construction ("Zhengzhou International Hub Development and Construction"). Food, wine and beverages are the main imports from Russia, while electronic products and steel products form the bulk of this region's exports to the Russian Federation, ”Xinhua said. China-Europe Freight Rail Link is one of the most important transport directions of the China One Belt One Road initiative. It started operating in 2011 and has grown rapidly since then. From Zhengzhou, the first freight train took it to Hamburg in July 2013. Currently, 12 Chinese cities - the largest industrial hubs - have freight rail links with Europe.
